Yet another year long extension to Shivraj Singh as chairman of the power companies of the Chhattisgarh has been approved by the state government.
This comes as Singh’s three year tenure in the post was to have terminated on March 31 of this year.
The extension would ensure that Shivraj Singh would now continue till March 31 of 2019 as Chairman of the power companies.
He would also continue as advisor to the post of Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh.
Shivraj Singh has been on the post since year 2012 ever since P Joy Oommen relinquished the post back then.
The extent to which the state government bestows its confidence on Shivraj Singh can be ascertained from the fact that with the latest extension, he would serve seven years in all to the post when others have not had the tenure for more than three years.
Shivraj Singh retired as Chief Secretary of the state back in year 2008.>
