Shocking details emerged from ashram inspection; were women being exploited??
Shocking details emerged from the ashram located in Delhi’s Rohini area after the High Court formed consisting of lawyers and Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief to carry out the inspection of the premises of the institute where girls and women were allegedly kept in illegal confinement.
It emerged that over forty girls were rescued after the inspection and Delhi Women’s Commission chief Swati Maliwal confirmed that inspection of Adhyatmik Vishwa Vidyalaya was carried out and so far rescue of 41 girls have been secured.
These girls will now be counselled, she said.
Many of the rescued girls could be minors as well. It was informed that most of the girls and women there appeared in a trance like they were drugged and that the steps also need to be taken to rescue the adult women who are left there.
The HC had on Wednesday ordered a CBI probe into the alleged illegal confinement of girls and women in the ashram where, it was claimed, they were kept in “animal-like” conditions behind metal doors in a “fortress” surrounded by barbed wire. >
