While the teaser of Shraddha Kapoor’s Haseena has set many expectations high, Shraddha has also set to make sure that she delivers the hype with her portrayal in the titular role in the biopic. While Mirror was the first one to reveal Ankur Bhatia’s look as Ibrahim Parkar playing Shraddha, s husband in Apoorva Lakhia’s directorial. Now the tabloid has also learnt Shraddha will not just play a wife but also a mother of 4 children in Haseena Parkar’s biopic.
Talking about the same director Apoorva Lakhia told Mumbai Mirror, “It was easier to get her to play a 17-yearold but I also wanted to see if Shraddha was up for the challenge of ageing as the film spans 40 years. After the narration, she told me she needed two days to think about my offer.”
Apoorva informed that Shraddha’s real-life closeness to Aunt Tejaswini Kolhapure’s daughter Vedika made it easy for her to play a mother on-screen. “There is a scene which was extended when we saw Shraddha cradle her screen kids to stop the crying. She is really patient and mature for her age. I remember her reading pregnancy books and paying attention to details like the way expectant mothers hold their backs,” Apoorva added.
In fact, the on-screen family was also allowed to bond a couple of hours daily, Apoorva added saying, “I ensured that they arrived two-three hours before shooting commenced. They hung out together, playing and talking to each other. We also instructed the real parents to not be around during the shoot.”
Another task the makers had to deal with was that how much weight would Shraddha had to gain to chronicle 4 decades, and before signing off Apoorva explained, “Haseena gets married at 17, which is followed by four kids. She turns a corner at 45. We shot the film in chronological order to capture the weight gain in the correct sequence.”
