Siddaramaiah questions ‘Hindu division’ claims as Amit Shah is ‘Jain’

Karnataka CM said that it is the BJP which is dividing society on caste and religion basis

It is surely a no holds barred electoral contest between Congress and BJP in the Karnataka state that is to see polling on May 12.

Under criticism for trying to divide Hindus by according to Lingayats a different religion status, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah went to the extent of saying that why should Amit Shah talk about the divisions within Hindus when he is himself a Jain.

He made the comment while in an exclusive interview to leading television channel.

It need be mentioned that Congress is being seen in the fight for Karnataka and Siddaramaiah has emerged to be a formidable opponent to BJP’s aspirations.

The Karnataka CM said that it is the BJP which is dividing society on caste and religion basis.

He said that in so far as the Lingayat’s issue is concerned, the religion had been established long ago.

He said that the state government only forwarded the recommendations of the commission to the central government.
