In a tragedy that struck the Air Force on Friday, an MI17-V5 transport helicopter crashed on Arunachal-China border in which six people lost their lives. The incident has caused anxiety in the air force which has ordered a court of inquiry. It need be mentioned that India would celebrate Air Force Day on October 8. The accident is said to have taken place in Khirmu area of Tawang region of Arunachal close to China border and the helicopter was carrying items for army maintenance. The accident comes day after Air Chief BS Dhanoa had expressed concern on losing air staffers during peace time in accidents and stressed on preventing such losses.
