Smriti Irani counters Rahul Gandhi on data privacy, NaMo app row

Irani also alleged that Congress was using technology but only to divide the country on the casteist lines

Criticizing Congress chief Rahul Gandhi on data privacy row and his allegations that has BJP baffled, Union Minister Smriti Irani claimed that he had increased his popularity through use of bots mostly from Russia and Uzbekistan.

Irani also alleged that Congress was using technology but only to divide the country on the casteist lines.

She however did announce that India had a policy for digital broadcasting and news and that she would make some announcement in this regard very soon.

When the media asked about the Congress chief gaining more traction in social media, Irani took the potshots that Rahul Gandhi’s social media popularity is mostly due to bots from two countries Uzbekistan and Russia.

She also dismissed allegations about the NaMo (Narendra Modi) app secretly recording users’ data and added that most apps seek information from users and to tantamount it to snooping would be very childish.
