Software malfunction causes many flights to delay, in Delhi airport

In what could be termed as sudden breakdown of system, many Air India flights were delayed at the Indira Gandhi International airport this afternoon.

The massive inconvenience to the passengers was due to problem in the airline’s SITA server.

The server, it was said, was down for over an hour.

Airline officials too conceded that server went down and affected Air India flights across the country.

The operations were mostly affected between 1:30pm and 2:30pm.

It was later told that the departure timings of as many as 23 flights were affected and the delays owing to the software malfunction stretched from 15-30 minutes.

Many passengers were left with no option but to remain stranded at the airport due to the delay in flights.
