Startling revelations in Pranab Mukherjee book including how Pak minister was asked to leave India

Startling revelations have been made in the book The Coalition Years, 1996-2012, which was launched on Friday.

The book written by former President Pranab Mukherjee went on even to reveal that as external affairs minister,he had even asked the then visiting Pakistani Foreign Minister Mehmood Qureshi to walk out of a press conference and leave India.

Mukherjee, in his book, claimed that he learnt of Pakistani minister holding a press conference the day after four-day siege began.

He immediately decided to take action and conveyed to the Pakistan Minister that he should leave India because of the terror strike going on in Mumbai.

At least 162 people were killed and more than 300 were injured in the attack by Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba.

One of the terrorists, Ajmal Kasab, was captured and hanged on November 21, 2012 for his role in the attack.

The mastermind behind the attack, Hafiz Saeed, continues to enjoy sanctuary in Pakistan.

Mukherjee also revealed that the Pakistani High Commission had expressed gratitude and informed that a Pakistani air force aircraft would take him back home.
