State govt extends last date of regularization of illegal colonies

Punjab Government today extended the last date of applying for regularization of illegal colonies, plots and buildings to June 30, 2019 which otherwise lapsed on 18 February, 2019.

Disclosing this here today official Spokesperson of the Punjab Government said that this decision has been taken considering a major demand of real estate promoters and developers.

The spokesperson said that a meeting in this regard was held recently under the Chairmanship of Housing and Urban Development Minister Mr. Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa with the senior officials of the government to review the progress made under the policy notified for regularization of illegal colonies in the presence of Punjab Colonizers and Property Dealers’ Association.

The Association members put forward a demand regarding extending the date regularizing the illegal colonies, the Housing & Urban Development Department officials and the Minister considering this demand said that keeping in view the interests of common people it was decided to further extend the date.

The spokesperson said that apart from extending the last date, the decision was also taken to allow the acceptance of manual applications in the offices of respective Development Authorities along with the present system of receiving applications at the Sewa Kendras and designated branches of HDFC Bank apart from online mode.

He further said that for easing the process of applying under the policy, instead of multiple sets, only one set is now being accepted. Along with, a provision for making multiple applications through a single email login has been allowed.

As per the demand of the Colonizers of delegating the powers of issuance NoCs to the Estate Officer (Regulatory) in place of Chief Administrator, the Association has been informed of the existing provisions of the Act, wherein the power of issuing NoCs is delegated to the Estate Officer.
