A State Knowledge Management Centre on Climate Change has been set up in state under Environment Planning and Coordination Organisation (EPCO). The centre is providing training on subjects related to climate change.
Training in “Certificate Course on Climate Change” has been started in EPCO. Participants from all over the country are taking part in the training programme.
Inaugurating the programme, Executive Director EPCO Shri Jitendra Singh Raje said that climate change has become a challenge for social and economic development along with environment.
To meet the challenge it is essential to establish control on the emission of greenhouse gases which is responsible for climate change and effective tree plantation should also be done to reduce the ill-effects of climate change.
He said that better work can be done in the direction of environment conservation only when every individual is committed to this cause.
Padmashri Shri Babulal Dahiya, Dr. Suruchi Bhadwal from TERI New Delhi, Sushri Riddhima Sood of Environment and Forest Ministry, Urban Environment Expert Sushri Soumya Chaturvedla, Professor Dr. Amitabh Pandey of IIFM, Bhopal, Dr. Mohanty of Indian Institute of Soil Science and Retired PCCF Shri B.M.S. Rathore will give lectures during the training. The training will conclude on March 28.
Participants will be made to review the efforts being taken at the social level to save traditional water research of wells and bawadis in Indore and Burhanpur during the training. So far 60 participants have attended 3 such training programmes in EPCO.
