Tension prevailed high in Birgaon area of Raipur after stone pelting incident on ‘Path Sanchalan’ or the march past of the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh.

The suddent surge in tension in the area led the top police officials of the district rush to the spot.

Superintendent of Police Amresh Mishra and Additional SP Prafull Thakur reached the spot of tension as soon as it appeared that the things may soon get out of hand.

It is said citing Vishwa Hindu Parishad sources that stone pelting took place from the worship place of different community.

Police, in view of the escalating tension, chose to deploy police personnel in massive numbers to avoid more conflicts.

It is learnt citing local but unconfirmed sources that stone pelting has led to injuries to some people but police intervened timely.

Soon enough VHP leader Ramesh Bhai Modi, RSS leader Dr PurnendU Saxena and other prominent office bearers also rushed to the spot.

It remains to be seen as to whether this tension gets over now or gets escalated further.
