It is alleged that five of the students, including minors, were raped by the director of a residential school for tribal students in Maharashtra’s Sangli district.
Police said that the accused has been arrested.
The sexual exploitation was on the pretext of promising them good marks in exams and providing free education in the school.
Police said that the director of the school is Arvind Pawar, who is now under arrest.
Aide of the accused Manisha Kamble has also been apprehended by the police in connection with rape and molestation, police said.
Police said they received an anonymous letter about what was going on in the school.
A woman police officer visited the school and spoke to students.
The police have registered a case under the the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, it was informed.>
