Supreme Court prohibits ‘politicization’ of fire cracker ban

The Supreme Court, on Friday, ruled that ban on sale of firecrackers in Delhi and national capital region would continue.

The apex court decision of Friday was in response to a plea from a group of traders seeking modification of the October 9 order banning sale of crackers for this Diwali which will continue till November 1.

However, the Supreme Court judges expressed their anguish that the judgement was being seen in the communal colour.

“Nobody should politicise the cracker ban order”, the court said. The development comes few days after traders told the apex court that a huge amount of money has been invested by them after their licences were revived and the latest order would cause huge loss to them.
