Ambikapur to Bilaspur/Raipur road cut off due to damage of road
Raipur/Ambikapur/Bilaspur: The Ambikapur-Bilaspur main road, the temporary bridge constructed was damaged due to heavy rains causing total disruption of traffic. The road has been damaged between Udaipur and Tara.
The commuters have been advised to take different route of Surajpur, Shreenagar, Tara, Choita and to Bilaspur while the second route is better and safe but would have to cover additional 50 kilometres. The route is Surajpur, Baikuntpur, Manendragarh, Marwahi to reach Bilaspur.
As per reports, due to heavy continuous pouring of rains, the rivers and rivulets are at spate. Due to which near Salhi village, the temporary bridge washed away. It blocked the traffic. On receiving information, collector Kiran Kaushal and Superintendent of Police Radheshyam Nayak inspected the spot.
At present the widening work of Ambikapur-Bilaspur road is in progress. Due to which at Salhi village a temporary bridge was constructed. Heavy vehicles had been using the road, on daily basis.
The administration has put barricades to avoid any untoward incident. The passengers buses have been diverted through Surajpur route. In case of traffic jam, ambulance and medical assistance team have been deployed to tackle any emergency. The National Highway officials have been directed for early repair of the bridge.
As per information received, Collector received the information regarding the bridge in early morning hours. Collector had been continuously monitoring the situation and visited the spot in early morning hours, covering around 70 kilometres from district headquarters.
