As many as five school teachers were booked in Koraput, Nuapada and Dhenkanal police stations in Odisha for circulating matriculation examination question papers.
The teachers were subsequently arrested as well for their alleged involvement in the case.
Officials of the Board of Secondary Education in Odisha,which conducts the matriculation examination (Class 10), said more arrests would be made in this connection.
The examination, which began on Friday, will conclude on March 8.
It was said that of the nine erring teachers, five were arrested and the rest will be held soon.
It was also said that two other school teachers from Jagatsinghpur district were also placed under suspension after it was conclusively established that the duo had willfully neglected in performing their duties.
