Karan Johar’s directorial debut Kuch Kuch Hota Hai has completed 20 years today. Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji, Salman Khan was an integral part of the film.
An event celebrating the 20th anniversary of Karan Johar’s directorial debut Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is currently underway.
The film was released on October 16, 1998, and was a big blockbuster. Not just that, it was also critically acclaimed and won all the Filmfare awards it was nominated for.
In fact, it also won National Award for best popular film providing wholesome entertainment.
Apart from the lead trio of Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji, KKHH also featured a surprise appearance of Salman Khan in the role of Aman.
Despite being in a special appearance, his performance earned Salman his first Filmfare Award in acting category.
He won the trophy for the best supporting actor. Even though Salman Khan couldn’t make it to the event celebrating 20 years of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, he recorded an AV which was played in front of hundreds of attendees including Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Rani Mukerji and Karan Johar, among others.
Shot on the sets of Bigg Boss 12, Salman Khan talks about how he got on board for the film.
He reveals that it was his sister Alvira whom Karan had approached first for the role. He then had a word with Karan at a party and he loved the script and instantly came on board.
He reveals that he did the film for his sister Alvira, for Yash Johar, Hiroo Johar, Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan. Wishing everyone love and luck, Salman Khan urged Karan that they should do a film together soon.
