Telugu Blockbuster Arjun Reddy Being Remade on Hindi

According to latest reports, the makers might have zeroed in on their leading lady.

Telugu blockbuster, hit flick Arjun Reddy is being remade on Hindi with Shahid Kapoor and the actor will resume shooting for it soon.

The makers had earlier signed on Tara Sutaria for the female lead role in the film. Tara Sutaria is making her debut in acting with Student of the Year 2 being made by Karan Johar.

Tara Sutaria opted out of the remake of Arjun Reddy for reasons unknown and the makers are now on the lookout for her replacement. And according to latest reports, they might have zeroed in on their leading lady.

According to a report in Deccan Chronicle, Kiara Advani has been signed on to play the female lead role in Arjun Reddy remake. Kiara is busy with her projects in Telugu alongside Ram Charan and is currently shooting for it.

“When the film’s director Sandeep Vanga approached her for the role, Kiara instantly jumped on the bandwagon! The actress is all kicked to play the part, and will join the sets of the film soon,” a source was quoted.

The Hindi remake will have Shahid Kapoor reprising Vijay Deverakonda’s role which is filled with rawness and aggression. The original in Telugu is one the path-defining films in Tollywood and has changed the dynamics of the industry.

The Hindi remake will also be directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga who wrote and directed the original. Shalini Pandey was seen playing the female lead role, Preeti, in the original.

Arjun Reddy is also being remade in Tamil titled Varma which will mark the debut of Vikram’s son Dhruv in films.
