Tharoor posts Gautam Buddha pic to his tweet on Mahavir Jayanti; Twiterati had this to say

need be mentioned that Mahavir Jayanti which falls on 29th March 2018, celebrates the birth of the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism&Lord Vardhamana Mahavira.

He is popular with the Twiterati but he got schooling today as the senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor posted on his tweet wishes on Mahavira Jayanti but posted the picture of Gautam Buddha instead.

The post apparently opened the flood gates with the Twiterati who then shared their own version of goof ups for different occasions and festivals.

It need be mentioned that Mahavir Jayanti which falls on 29th March 2018, celebrates the birth of the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism&Lord Vardhamana Mahavira.

It is also the most revered festival of the Jain community across the world.

It is very well understood that the mistake was totally unintentional.

With lessons pouring in, the Congress leader then took to accepting the mistake.

He wrote,

“Here’s the source for my picture: http://www.haribhoomi.com/astrology_and_spirituality/mahavir-jayanti-importance-mahavir-jayanti-2018 …
Authentic, accepted alternatives most welcome. At least, thanks to my apparent error, a lot more people are tweeting on Mahavira than they would otherwise have!”
