Three judge SC bench heard Judge Loya death case today; heres what happened
A three judge bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra has ordered that no high courts would hear petitions pertaining to the death of Judge Loya.
It need be mentioned that Supreme Court was hearing petitions filed by Congress leader Tehseen Poonawalla and Maharashtra journalist B S Lone.
The apex court transferred all of such petitions to itself to be taken up along with the other pleas before the SC.
The next hearing in the matter will be heard on February 2 of this year.
In the hearing that was held today, the Maharashtra government produced the statements of four judges who had accompanied Judge Loya to a hospital on the night and ruled out anything unnatural about the incident.
Earlier, some of Judge Loya’s relatives, including his sister, had told a magazine that the death of judge Loya may have been due to unnatural causes.>
