Police in Odisha’s Malkangiri have recovered three charred bodies.
The bodies are believed to be of the three siblings, all girls.
Police had been tipped off by the neighbours as they spotted flames and smoke coming out of the house.
They told the police that sisters aged 20, 18 and 16 had been inside the house during the fire.
The three had died by the time the police and firemen arrived.
While putting out the flames, the firemen informed the police that the door was locked from the inside.
Police too suspects that the girls committed suicide.
This is also because they had sent their brothers to the market just before the fire, the police said.
Neighbours suspect that the sisters, all unmarried, were depressed.
There was also the issue of them struggling with poverty and stress since the death of their father 10 days ago.
A case of unnatural death has been registered.>
