Timeline for Aadhar linking with ration card extended upto Sept 30: Govt

28 States and UTs have completed the Aadhaar seeding of respective ration cards

The Union Government today said that the timeline given to all States and Union Territories for linking the Aadhaar numbers of beneficiaries with their ration cards has been extended up to 30th of September this year.

In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti said so far, at the national level about 92.8 per cent ration cards have been seeded with Aadhaar of beneficiaries.

She said, 28 States and UTs have completed the Aadhaar seeding of respective ration cards. She informed the house that further Aadhaar seeding of ration cards is progressing in other eight states and UTs.
