The trailer of Rishi Kapoor and Taapsee Pannu’s upcoming film Mulk was released today. The film will see Taapsee playing the role of a lawyer, while Rishi Kapoor will play the accused in the case.

Taapsee Pannu and Rishi Kapoor are all set to deliver a power packed performance with their upcoming courtroom drama titled Mulk. The film is directed by Anubhav Sinha and is shot extensively in Benaras and Lucknow.

A few days ago, the makers had dropped the posters and a teaser of the film. The teaser grabbed a lot of attention, and today, the makers have finally released the trailer for the film.

Unlike other light-hearted films, this film seems to be an intense journey through the courtroom. The journey is of the accused Murad Ali Mohammed (Rishi Kapoor), and the defence lawyer Aarti Mohammed (Taapsee Pannu).

At the beginning itself, the trailer reveals that Prateik Babbar, who is Rishi Kapoor’s son, is a terrorist, and is the reason for a bomb blast in the city.

Prateik goes absconding, and this leads to the police knocking down Rishi Kapoor’s home, and arresting him and other members of the family, assuming that they know about their son’s whereabouts.

The next few seconds has some strong dialogues by Ashutosh Rana, who is the public prosecutor, accusing Rishi and his family to be involved in terrorism, and comparing him to Osama Bin Laden.

Then, there is a twist in the tale, when apparently Taapsee finds a loophole in the investigation, and questions Rajat Kapoor, who is the investigating officer, in the courtroom.

The trailer ends with a power packed dialogue by Rishi Kapoor explaining that he is as much of an Indian as any Hindu is, and shows shots of Taapsee and Rishi praying in a temple.

Watch the trailer here:

Taapsee Pannu and Rishi Kapoor are flawless as usual, but what comes as a surprise element is Prateik Babbar. In just a few seconds that he appears in the trailer, his act looks intriguing and promising.

Mulk will hit the screens on August 3, 2018.
