Transgender Persons Protection of Rights Bill which was passed in April 2016 by the Supreme Court has recognised transgender as the third gender

As part of the empowerment of the transgenders in country, the Tiger Protective Service has appointed a transgender woman as security personnel in Thilai Nagar of Trichy.

The transgender has been identified as S Madhavi.

The person was given her appointment order by Trichy Deputy Commissioner (Law and Order) NS Nisha.

It need be mentioned that Tiger Protective Service is a private organisation.

This comes as back in April 2017, Prithika Yashini a transgender from Tamil Nadu was the first person to be taken into the police force.

The Transgender Persons Protection of Rights Bill which was passed in April 2016 by the Supreme Court has recognised transgender as the third gender.
