Tribal teen gangraped; had to flee Harda to file plaint
A tribal teenager was allegedly gangraped but also threatened not to complain the crime to police.
The incident is said to have happened in Madhya Pradesh’s Betul district.
The girl is reported to be student of standard XI and her family was allegedly offered compromise to prevent complaint to the police.
The girl had to flee to neighboring Harda district, around 125 kms from Betul, and only then she could file a complaint with the police last evening. This delay is said to be two weeks from the crime day, police sources said.
According to information, the teenager was allegedly raped by five persons at Hardadadu village in Betul on January 11.
The accused offered the victim a lift to her school on their motorcycles, as per complaint, and then took her to an isolated place where they allegedly offered her a sedative-laced drink and raped her.
The victim was under shock and it was only when she reached home that she was able to narrate her ordeal to her father and grandmother, police sources said.
The girl had to seek help from some relatives to reach the Harda city Kotwali police station last evening and file the complaint. >
