Triple talaq activist Nida Khan to meet Prime Minister Modi

She has been in news for allegedly defying the Muslim clerics by challenging triple talaq as well as 'nikah halala'

The activist Nida Khan now wants to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a new fatwa has been issued against her.

Threatened, she says that latest fatwa speaks of a cash reward of Rs 11,876 for anyone who chops hair of the Bareilly-based woman.

She has been in news for allegedly defying the Muslim clerics by challenging triple talaq as well as ‘nikah halala’.

Khan further informed that she has been threatened to leave the country in the next three days failing which she will be attacked with stones.

Undeterred by the fatwas issued against her, Nida Khan said that she would meet the Prime Minister and urge him to take action against those who issue such intimidating and bizarre fatwas.

Though Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in Shahjahanpur today, Nida Khan could not meet him over concerns about her own safety.

The fresh threat to Nida Khan comes days after a Bareilly court declared the instant divorce given to her as invalid.

Last summer, the Supreme Court banned the concept of instant divorce as “unconstitutional”.
