Tripura CM Sarkar alleges BJP in collusion with separatist IPFT; ahead of state poll
Tripura Chief Minister for at least two decades, Manik Sarkar is making an effort for reelection for the fifth term and has now accused the opposition BJP to be in collusion with the separatist tribal party Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT).
He said that however, the people of Tripura will see through the conspiracy and would strive to contest against this division.
He said that BJP is conspiring against the left government of Tripura.
The 69-yr-old Chief Minister has accused the BJP-led central government of putting up an economic blockade against the Left Front government in Tripura.
He said that meetings of the central government ministers were held with the IPFT leaders but none of the details of these meetings were shared with the state government.
He said that Tripura’s post-independence history has been marked by ethnic peace and amity.
It need be mentioned that ever since 2009, the IPFT has been agitating for upgrading the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) into a separate tribal state.
Taking on the Prime Minister, he said that Modi during his election campaign accused the Tripura government of not having spent central funds.
He shot back that funding for most of the central schemes have been stopped by the central government itself.>
