In a major development, the Tripura government went ahead and announced a recruitment policy that will ensure reservations for female candidates in government jobs.
With this the BJP government in Tripura has annulled the employment policy of the earlier leftist regime.
As per the decision, the state cabinet has reserved ten percent of the post in the police for women.
The government claims that the new step will bring in fairness and transparency to the system.
The state government also announced that hereafter, a written examination would be done for recruiting employees for the group ‘C’ and group ‘D’ posts.
The Cabinet meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, who also holds the home portfolio.
The BJP government on Saturday also decided to enhance the salaries and allowances of the judicial officers with effect from January 2016.>
