In yet another aviation related incident, a water truck rammed a Qatar Airways plane late last night in Kolkata.
The aircraft was partially damaged.
The incident led to over 100 passengers getting stranded at Kolkata airport.
The Qatar Airways flight QR 541 from Kolkata to Doha was in the middle of boarding when it was hit by the tanker this morning at 3.15 am.
Officials suspect the tanker’s brakes had failed.
It was then that all 103 passengers on board the plane, that was hit in the belly, were brought out safely and the plane was immediately grounded for inspection, it was informed.
The driver of the tanker has been suspended.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation or DGCA has ordered an inquiry into the incident. >
