Two NCP activists killed; over half dozen bullets fired

incident took place in Jamkhed town of the Ahmednagar district

In what is being suspected to be political killings, two Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) workers were shot dead on Saturday evening.

The incident took place in Jamkhed town of the Ahmednagar district in Maharashtra.

It may be recalled that this comes just three weeks after two Shiv Sena leaders were killed in Ahmednagar.

The two NCP activists have been identified as 29-yr-old Yogesh Ralebhat and 28-yr-old Rakesh Ralebhat.

Police have said that they were shot at by three bike-borne assailants around 6.45 pm on that evening.

The brutality of the incident could be gauged from the fact that a total of eight bullets were fired from a small countrymade firearm.

Even as the two were rushed to the local hospital, they eventually succumbed to injuries.

The police is said to have identified at least one of the assailants and is probing the incident.
