Approval has been given for electrified rail line project between Budhni and Indore in a meeting of the Committee of Economic Affairs of the Union Cabinet held today in New Delhi under the Chairmanship of the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi
The estimated cost of 205.5 k.m. long rail line between Budhni and Indore (Mangliya Village) is Rs. 3261.82 crore.
The main objective of the project is development of the rural areas. This rail project will reduce travelling time from Indore to Jabalpur, Mumbai and towards Southern India.
The distance between Indore and Jabalpur will come down by 68 k.m. in comparison to the existing route via Bhopal. Moreover, people of this region will get better transportation facility for development of business.
The direct employment of 49 lakh 32 thousand man days will be generated too during the construction period of the project.
There is a proposal to construct 10 new crossing stations and 7 new halt stations under the proposed rail line. Sehore, Dewas and Indore district will be benefitted by the new line.
Moreover, various towns and villages like Nasrullaganj, Khategoan and Kannod will come in approach under the project, which are not approachable by rail yet.>
