Union Minister Manoj Sinha announced on Tuesday that the new telecom policy is almost ready and will soon be placed on the department’s website for claims and objections to the policy.
He said that the policy may be brought in the next session of Parliament after a Cabinet nod.
Minister Sinha also said that the recent Cabinet nod to the telecom relief package entails giving more time to companies to pay for the spectrum they bought as well as liberalized spectrum caps.
He said that this will surely ensure that the historic success of the sector continues unabated.
It need be recalled that the Cabinet allowed telecom companies to pay for spectrum over 16 years instead of 10 years time.>
