Meerut: 6-year-old girl was allegedly raped after being abducted from outside her house in Garhi area on Thursday. The suspect has not been arrested yet.
The following day, the minor girl was recovered in a critical condition around 2 kilometres away from her house. She was immediately rushed to the district hospital for treatment. However, the medics there referred her to Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial Medical College in Meerut, where she is currently battling for her life.
Surgery to save the minor girl
The brutal sexual assault left her private parts significantly damaged. Her entire body has abrasions. Doctors have performed surgery for saving her life. “A separate tube has been surgically placed to ensure disposal of faecal matter,” a report by The Times of India quoted a doctor as saying.
Police said that a motorcycle-borne person abducted the minor girl when she was playing right outside her house on Thursday evening. On receiving information, police immediately commissioned several teams, including a dog squad, for tracing the minor. The next morning, she was found abandoned in a critical condition around 2 kilometres away from her house, following which she was taken to the hospital for administering medical care.
Police suspect that the heinous crime may have been committed by a person who is known to the minor girl’s family. Hapur Superintendent of Police Sarvesh Mishra said that witnesses told the investigating officials that minor rape survivor didn’t offer any resistance while being lured by the suspect. This suggests that the suspect could be known to the child or her family. A sketch has been prepared based on account of two women who said that they saw the suspect, the SP added.
