US asserts Pak needs to do more on terror curbing front

Vice President Mike Pence as he met Pakistan Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi of Pakistan recently

United States, keen to move out of Afghanistan after it achieves stability, has reiterated that Pakistan has to do a lot more to wipe out terrorism from inside its territory.

The US also said that it needs to initiate a crackdown not just on the Taliban but also on other terror networks.

This was made clear by the Vice President Mike Pence as he met Pakistan Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi of Pakistan recently.

It need be recalled that in his new South Asia Policy in August, President Donald Trump had called for tougher measure against Pakistan if it fails to cooperate with the US in its fight against terrorism.

This even as Pakistan claims to have killed hundreds of Taliban militants in military operations in the last two years.
