The United States has reiterated the support for India’s membership for Nuclear Suppliers Group.
The US administration officials speaking on the outcomes of the two plus two debate between the two countries recently also said that Trump administration supports India’s bid for a permanent seat on a reformed UN Security Council.
The US official Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of South and Central Asia Region Alice Wells said that the two countries are now global partners and do share a commitment to work together on global challenges like de-nuclearisation of the Korean peninsula.
She also said that the US and India do share vision on international challenges including a de-nuclearised Korean Peninsula to a peaceful and prosperous Afghanistan.
It need be mentioned that both US and India have congratulated Maldives for successful election and electing Ibrahim Mohamed Solih as the new President of the island nation.>
