Used to ‘Jio’ now, get ready to pay more; heres why
Most probably you have been using Jio for quite some time now and are also used to paying low tariffs.
But that is set to change as according to a reoprt, the tariff hereafter is headed to soar every month.
Even if there is no official word to back this claim, but in a report Goldman Sachs notes that Jio will be increasing data tariff almost every month.
Just recently, on October 19, Jio increased the prices of several data plans as well as reduced data in some other plans.
Jio has reportedly raised the price of the 91GB data plan.
This tariff plan until a day ago was available at Rs 491, however, it is today that the plans price have been revised. The Rs 491 plan has been changed to Rs 499.
But then, it should be noted that these are reports popping in and Jio hasn’t confirmed any details on the same as of yet. The newly revised plan, as claimed hasn’t seen listed on the company sote as of yet.
According to the Economic Times, Goldman Sachs made its observations in a report on October 24. “We expect Jio to raise tariffs every few months, with the next potential increase in January 2018,” the report from Goldman noted.
On Diwali, Jio had increased prices for prepaid and postpaid users by around 15 to 20 per cent, particular in high value plans. Although at the same time it also made the Rs 149 plan more attractive by giving users more data.
The Goldman Sachs report notes that in future Jio may bring major changes in the Rs 459 plan.
Jio earlier offered 84GB of 4G data for 84 days with a daily FUP limit of 1GB along with unlimited voice calls under the Rs 399 plan.
But on Diwali after it was revamped, the same benefits are only available to users under the Rs 459 plan. With the Rs 399 plan the company is now offering 70GB of 4G data for 70 days with a daily FUP limit of 1GB data along with unlimited local and STD voice calling facilities.
Goldman notes that in future Jio may reduce the validity of the Rs 459 plan to 70 days from current 84 days.
