Uttar Pradesh CM, South Korean first lady to attend Diwali celebrations in Ayodhya

In Ayodhya, the Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath is to attend the grand Diwali celebrations to be held in the city later in the evening.

There will also be South Korean First Lady Kim Jung-sook who will grace the city event as the chief guest.

The two reached arrived at Ram Katha Parj in Ayodhya in the afternoon where the attended cultural performaces.

A massive 30-feet statue of Lord Ram has been installed on the banks of the Saryu river, along with that of Lord Hanuman’s.

A majestic ceremonial gateway has also been constructed near the site of the main function ‘Deepotsav’.

While the old temples facing the ghats of the river wear a fresh look after they were decorated with colourful lighting, lakhs of diyas or earthern lamps have been arranged on the steps of the ghats.

Almost three lakhs diya will be lit in the evening on the banks of Saryu river where an attempt will be made to enter into the Guinness Book of Record with the lighting ceremony.

Notably, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is expected to announce the construction of a massive 151-metres tall
statue of Lord Ram temple on the banks of Saryu river during the celebrations today.
