Veg Manchurian Recipe

Ingredients :

  • 2 cups very finely chopped veggies (Carrots,cabbage,capsicum)
  • ¼ spring onion whites
  • ¼ cup spring onion greens
  • 3 tablespoons maida
  • 3 tablespoons corn flour
  • ½ teaspoon pepper powder
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • Salt
  • For the sauce
  • ½ cup spring onion whites
  • ¼ cup spring onion greens
  • 1 teaspoon crushed ginger
  • 2 green chillies,finely chopped
  • 3 teaspoons soy sauce
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper powder
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Salt
  • 2 teaspoons corn flour


  1. Chop the veggies very finely,use carrots,cabbage,capsicum,spring onion whites and greens.
  2. Take maida,corn flour,salt and pepper powder in a bowl. Add the chopped veggies and mix well.
  3. Sprinkle as little water as needed to make balls. You can gradually add more water if needed,but not more than 3 tablespoons of water. Mix well and make 12-15 equal sized balls.
  4. Heat oil for deep frying. Deep fry the shaped balls 3 at a time in medium flame. Be sure to fry them well to ensure the inside is cooked thoroughly. Drain the excess oil and set aside.
  5. Heat 3 teaspoons oil in a pan and add the crushed ginger,chopped green chillies and saute for 2 minutes. Add the chopped spring onion whites and saute for 3-4 minutes.
  6. Add soy sauce,salt,sugar and pepper powder. Mix well and cook for 2 minutes. Add 1 cup water and cook till the sauce starts to boil.
  7. Mix corn flour in ¼ cup water and add to the boiling sauce. Simmer for 4 minutes till the sauce thickens a bit.
  8. Add the fried manchurian balls and mix very gently. Cook for 3-4 minutes in low flame.
  9. Add the finely chopped spring onions and garnish. Remove from flame and serve veg manchurian gravy hot with fried rice.
