The Virat Kohli fans have all the more reasons to celebrate as the International Cricket Council (ICC) rewarded several cricket personalities for their hard work by announcing awards in individual as well as team categories.
The man in his thirties swept major honours at the event as he bagged the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy as well as the ICC Test & ODI Cricketer of the Year awards.
It need be mentioned that having bagged the ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year 2018, ICC Men’s Test Cricketer of the Year 2018 as well as ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year 2018, Kohli became the first cricketer ever to win all three honours in the same calendar year.
Delighted after winning so many awards, Kohli said that these awards give you that extra motivation.
The ICC awards were also special for rising Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant – who was named as ICC’s Emerging Cricketer of the Year.
New Zealand captain Kane Williamson was named for The ICC Spirit of Cricket Award.
