Nana Patekar, has been condemned by 34-year-old Tanushree Datta for his misconduct on the sets of Horn Ok Please; for harassing and threatening her on a film set in 2008.
Tanushree Dutta’s crusade against sexual harassment in the Indian film industry is gaining momentum with every passing day, having found support from a lot of B-town celebs.
From Arjun Kapoor, Kunal Kpaoor, Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker, Twinkle Khanna, Pooja Bhat to Parineeti Chopra, a lot of B-town celebrities have shown solidarity on social media.
In an interview, Tanushree Dutta has said that while shooting for a special dance number in the film, she was sexually harassed by Nana Patekar.
Plus, Dutta has also alleged that Vivek Agnihotri asked her to strip on the sets of the movie Chocolate. Amid all the controversy, the latest actor to support Tanushree Dutta is Vivek Oberoi.
At an event, Vivek Oberoi was asked about the Tanushree Dutta and Nana Patekar controversy and Vivek said, “Be it Bollywood or Hollywood, chahe film ka space ho ya office ka space ho, chahe journalism ka office ho, it is our responsibility, not only as men but as a society to make women feel secure at work.”
Not just this, Vivek feels that abuse of power should be stopped. Vivek says, “Power should not misused in the industry and lobbyism and pressure daalna logo par hath jaana chahiye,” adding, “Ladies ko respect, sense of security and equality is very important for women. It has been 70 years since independence but many girls haven’t found independence yet.”
Yesterday, Tanushree Dutta had received two legal notices from Nana Patekar and filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri respectively and Nana will address the accusations made by the actress on October 8, 2018 in Mumbai.
