VVPAT slips to be compared with votes of one polling centre of each VS constituency

This work will be in the presence of candidates / election agents and central observer. It will be videographed also.

As per the directive of the Election Commission of India, one polling centre will be selected on a random basis in every Vidhan Sabha constituency and the slip of the VVPAT used in the centre will be matched essentially with the results displayed in the EVM Control Unit.

This work will be in the presence of candidates / election agents and central observer. It will be videographed also.

Arrangement for compulsory verification will be ensured from the VVPAT slips inside the counting hall.

For this counting VVPAT counting booth will be created, which will have a netted coverage, like that of the cashier in the bank, in which no other person will have access to the VVPAT slip.

For this, all the candidates will be notified by the returning officer beforehand. For the selection of the polling centre, a white paper of 1×1 inch size with the number of the polling centres on it will be inserted in a container and random selection will be made after taking out a slip.

This work will be done immediately after the final round of counting from EVM and will be done in the presence of the central observer and under strict vigilance.

Before the announcement of the results, the counting of the VVPAT slip by the Returning Officer will be followed by matching with the result of the control unit and then a verification sheet will be issued.
