Known for making controversial statement, the Shia Waqf Board member Wasim Rizvi has now blamed the madrasas for the communal clashes.
He said that hardline elements are responsible for inflaming sentiments against Hindus and Shias and thus violence emanates.
Rizvi also claimed that in Darul Uloom and other Madrasas situated at the border areas in India, foreign hardliners may also be teaching students.
The statement is crucial in view of the fact that central government’s statistics shows Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar and Jharkhand accounted for the biggest chunk of the 15 per cent increase in communal incidents in 2017 over the previous year.
