Who’s Who of Pakistan react to Salman Khan’s sentence; know what they said

He was obviously playing to the gallery of hardliners of his country

The five year sentence of the Bollywood ‘Sultan’ Salman Khan had reactions coming in from across the border as well.

As the actor was convicted and sentenced in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, the who’s who of Pakistan elites began speaking up.

Pakistan foreign minister Khwaja Asif claimed that Salman was targetted because he was a Muslim.

He was obviously playing to the gallery of hardliners of his country.

Asif said that maybe if the Salman belonged to the religion of the ruling party of India, the sentence may not have been as harsh.

But Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar said that he is hurt with his “friend” Salman sentenced and added that he felt the punishment was too harsh.

Similarly, the actress Mawra Hocane called Salman a “great human” and said that the verdict was “completely wrong”.

Well known singer Shehzad Roy said that he felt really bad after hearing the verdict and hoped that Salman would be granted bail at the earliest.
