Pankaj Tripathi joins Richa Chadha’s Shakeela biopic

Will be seen as a South Indian actor from the 90s

Actor Pankaj Tripathi, who was last seen in Pa Ranjith’s Kaala, will be seen in a significant role in the Shakeela biopic starring Richa Chadha.

Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi was last seen in director Pa Ranjith’s Tamil film Kaala that starred Rajinikanth, Nana Patekar and Huma Qureshi in the lead roles.

Now, the actor has been roped in to play an important role in the biopic of actress Shakeela.

In the untitled film, Pankaj Tripathi will be seen as a South Indian actor from the 90s, who was a dear friend of Shakeela. Tripathi, says an official release from the makers, has been vigorously prepping for his role. He will join the shoot in Karnataka sometime in August this year.

Speaking about being a part of Shakeela’s biopic, Pankaj said, "I am delighted to be part of this biopic. It talks about a life of Shakeela that people need to hear, and my character is someone who is her friend and also an actor. It is amazing to hear all the stories, anecdotes and incidents that have happened in her life. Glad I could be part of this film."

Actress Shakeela, who acted in adult films, went on to become a rage in the late 90s. The biopic, directed by Indrajit Lankesh, will trace the life of the actress from her childhood to her life in the 90s.

Recently, the first look of Shakeela biopic was released and it caught the attention of the audience. Richa Chadha has already started shooting for her portions.
