Will Smith marked half a century on Earth by bungee jumping out of a helicopter near the Grand Canyon.

The “Fresh Prince” took the gigantic leap Tuesday, nearly six months after popular YouTubers “Yes Theory” challenged him to face one of his biggest fears. Smith chose his 50th birthday to complete the task in order to raise awareness for Global Citizen’s education campaigns.

The actor conquered his fear of heights live on his YouTube in front of friends and family, including wife Jada Pinkett-Smith, former co-star Alfonso Ribeiro, and his 25 million channel subscribers.

The crowd cheered him on after the leap as Smith let out his own yelps of relief. He described the experience as going “from pure terror to absolute bliss.”

Before the dive, Smith recalled being “terrified to walk up to the edge” of the Grand Canyon as a child. Now, the actor can say he “heli-bungeed” near it.

While it’s been billed as a leap “in the heart of the Grand Canyon,” the stunt actually went down over the Little Colorado Gorge on Navajo Nation land just east of one of the world’s seven natural wonders.

Smith shared a family picture on Instagram before the plunge: “My Squad holding me down for my big 5-0.”
