With Korean peace in sight; Trump recommended for Nobel peace prize

It is yet another feather in the cap for the US President Donald Trump as now host of country’s Governors have signed in a petition backing Trump’s nomination for the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize.

This came about for the Trump’s efforts towards bringing peace to the Korean peninsula.

It is said that a letter was conveyed to Norwegian Nobel Committee chairman Berit Reiss-Andersen, McMaster and six fellow governors hailed the Trump’s efforts towards nuclearization as well as his willingness to engage with North Korean leadership and this succeeded in opening new avenues of cooperation, friendship.

The letter follows one from 18 US House Republicans, who earlier this month formally nominated Trump for the award amid preparations for a historic summit with North Korea’s Kim Jong Un.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee has also promoted the idea, sending an email encouraging supporters to “Nominate President Trump to Win the Nobel Peace Prize” by adding their name to a list.
