With rising menace of fake news, Whatsapp comes up with this feature

WhatsApp has added a new feature to its platform

With rumors and fake messages now having claimed many a lives in India, the social media platform Whatsapp is now hopeful that it will be able to identify and if the need be curb forwarded messages which may also be fake.

While the users have been initially labelling the forwarded messages with tag ‘Forwarded as received’ to absolve themselves of the responsibility of authentication, it will now longer be the case.

WhatsApp has added a new feature to its platform.

The feature will make it easier for users to identify messages or content which is being circulated across groups and individual chats by labeling them ‘Forwarded’.

It is also the idea behind the new feature to help people identify and distinguish between rumors, fake news, and other misinformation spreading through WhatsApp.
