woman said that she had been getting a lot of proposals after she uploaded her profile on a matrimonial website

In a rather unexpected turn of events, a woman in Mumbai received a marriage proposal from a Pakistani faking himself to be an Indian.

The marriage proposal is said have been received on Whatsapp.

The woman said that she had been getting a lot of proposals after she uploaded her profile on a matrimonial website.

She said that this particular man claimed to be a doctor from India and working in London.

The woman alleged that the man in question termed himself to be belonging to Nagpur and after termination of his contract with the London hospital, he would come back to India to start a family here.

She further said that he would ask her about her choices and hobbies but was reluctant to respond to the questions posed by her.

He had, however, shared his photographs and a picture of what he claimed to be ‘his hospital’s identity card’.

The woman had reasons to be suspicious after which she inquired about the doctor in the London hospital named.

She said that the call was picked up by a friend of the man. He told her that the man with whom she had been talking for so long was a Pakistani.

It also emerged that the man was married and had three children and that many other women had also been cheated in the same manner by him.

The woman, a freelancer at a popular five-star hotel, later lodged a complaint at the Versova Police station.
