Woman naxal arrested in Chhattisgarh; believed to have attacked police team earlier
A woman Naxal identified as Balmati Korram was arrested by joint team of security forces from the forested regions of Mardapal police station of Chhattisgarh state.
According to Kondagaon police, the woman naxal had a Rs 3 lakh reward on her arrest and was arrested today in Kondagaon district.
The arrest came about after the security forces acted on a tip-off.
A joint team of District Reserve Guards (DRG) and local police had launched an anti-naxal operations in areas including Kudur, Tumdiwal, Handapal, Chhitpani villages in Mardapal area.
While cordoning off the forests between Markampal and Chhitpani, the patrolling team rounded up Korram, who turned out to be an active member of Aamdai LOS (local organisation squad) of Maoists.
Police have traced her involvement in the attack on a police team in the forest of Hadeli village in the area in February 2015. >
