Woman raped while husband held at gunpoint in Gurugram; heres about the crime
Despite so much condemnation, the rapes doesn’t appear to be stopping and yet another such heinous crime was reported from Haryana.
Police sources said that four men abducted a woman in Gurugram as her husband decamped the car to urinate.
The couple is said to be returning from a wedding ritual and the woman was raped by at least one man.
Though the accused have been arrested, the sheer number of rapes that are emerging from the state of Haryana are worrisome.
There has been an outcry over the Dalit girls’ rape and murder recently.
The crime took place at around 9pm on Sunday near sector 56 in Gurugram. The 22-year-old victim, a resident of the tony South City area, had gone with her husband to attend a family function in sector 51.
While her husband was relieving himself, two cars halted next to theirs and four men came out.
The victim said that as soon as they halted and her husband got out, two other cars halted near their car and thus they began inquiring.
When it became clear that the woman had a hint of Bangla, the men looked inside the car, found the woman, dragged her to the bushes and raped her.
The other three pointed gun to the head of the two men in the meantime.
Police sources said that the rapist tried escaping from the spot but by then the husband had noted down the licence plate number of the two cars and this helped the police trace the accused.
The four have been identified as Deshvir, Dharmender, Pawan and the rapist Sanjeet. All of them are residents of Johalka village near Sohna in Gurugram.>
