In a worrisome report from Rajasthan, a woman in Jaipur is said to have been tested positive for the mosquito-borne Zika virus.
The report claims to cite the officials of a medical college there.
If confirmed, this will be first such case in Rajasthan.
It is known so far that the woman was admitted to the Sawai Man Singh (SMS) hospital on September 11.
She had been complaining of joint pain, redness in eyes and weakness and yet tested negative for dengue and swine flu.
It was when the samples were sent to the National Institute of Virology in Pune, that the report came out positive for Zika virus.
The woman is said to be a resident of Shastri Nagar area in Jaipur.
Rajasthan attracts large number of tourists and thus the ailment needs to controlled at the earliest.>
